Historical Seal

Metal detectors hold events on the farm to raise money for charity and recently found a lead seal from approx. 1300, which belonged to a woman called Amabil, wife of Stephen of Molscroft.

The front face bears a central entwined vine-like design. A circumferential legend is present which reads S’ AMABIL’ VX STEPhID MOLESCROFT.

The last picture in the gallery blow shows a clay impression of the seal.
