We farm over 600 hectares of arable land in the heart of East Yorkshire.

More than 10% of our land is managed primarily for wildlife and the environment through Higher Tier Environmental Stewardship.

Management includes wetlands, bird seed area and nectar rich areas. One important bird found on the farm is the Turtle Dove and several of our management areas are to help these to breed successfully.

We are in the process of moving the farm to be run under Conservation Agriculture principles, and as such are members of Trinity Ag-Tech and BASE-UK (Biology Agriculture Soil & Environment). We follow their principles of Conservation Agriculture which is fundamentally about carbon management in soil, based on 3 core principles - minimum soil disturbance through direct drilling, residue cover on the soil (cover and catch crops) and a more diverse rotation to ensure the farm is truly sustainable. We farm regeneratively, under Conservation Agriculture principles, and we intend to be carbon neutral by 2030.

We grow peas for Birds Eye, wheat for Bradshaw’s Mill in Driffield, malting barley for Muntons in Flamborough which is used to make Heineken beer, and Fava beans for export to Egypt.

We are also members of LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and we follow their principles of IFM (Integrated Farm Management).
