Farm & Estate News
After a hectic few weeks and the fencing contractors working all weekend to get it ready on time, we were really pleased to open the new dog walking field this morning.
The field was planned to help people with dogs who have issues with other dogs, or unreliable recall. However it has been a surprise how many different reasons people have to book the field, not least that it is in a lovely location, yet a short walk from Molescroft and Beverley.
The field is an old grass field and has not been cultivation in our memory so ideal for walking as the grass is well established. It is close to Leconfield and it is believed there was a gun turret in the field during the Second World War. You will also notice the WW2 pillbox on Carr Road, just by the field entrance.
The idea for the dog walking field came from a phone call from Janet who has three rescue Husky dogs and was desperate for somewhere safe to let her dogs off their leads. Therefore we asked Janet to come down and be the first visitor to the field and to cut the ribbon.
