Farm & Estate News
After a hectic few weeks and the fencing contractors working all weekend to get it ready on time, we were really pleased to open the new dog walking field this morning.
The field was planned to help people with dogs who have issues with other dogs, or unreliable recall. However it has been a surprise how many different reasons people have to book the field, not least that it is in a lovely location, yet a short walk from Molescroft and Beverley.
The field is an old grass field and has not been cultivation in our memory so ideal for walking as the grass is well established. It is close to Leconfield and it is believed there was a gun turret in the field during the Second World War. You will also notice the WW2 pillbox on Carr Road, just by the field entrance.
The idea for the dog walking field came from a phone call from Janet who has three rescue Husky dogs and was desperate for somewhere safe to let her dogs off their leads. Therefore we asked Janet to come down and be the first visitor to the field and to cut the ribbon. Photo below of Janet, her dogs, Tamara and Camilla who run the farm, and Jonathan Hall, Tamara and Camilla's father.
Hello! I hope you like our new website. It is rather basic at the moment but as the old website was only accessible via an ancient MacBook we decided we needed a new version to keep everybody updated to what we are doing on the farm.
The main news is that we will be opening a brand new children's nursery on the farm next summer! We are absolutely flat out with organising the construction of the building and the infinite finer points but will try to keep updating what we are doing. This will mostly be done through the nursery website www.molesfarmchildrensnursery.co.uk so please look there and follow the Facebook or Twitter account links from the website.
The second exciting news is that we are hopefully opening a dog walking field in spring 2017. This will be where people can book the field online for half hour time slots. The field will be for their sole use and will be very secure with 6' fencing, double entry gates and a shelter so you can have a sit down if you like. Payment will be taken by PayPal when you book. Again, please see the relevant page, this time it is on this website and is under 'The Farm' heading.
